So, I’ve had a bit of a break – been busy with work and the outside world! However, I haven’t forgotten about this project… I’ve got my buttons all in place, and I’ve got the rotary encoders with caps printed.
I haven’t got the rotaries in and soldered just yet though, but here’s a preview of how the wheel looks on the base!

All I need to do is have the button caps painted, rotaries in and soldered, then configure on SimHub. Annoyingly, I’ve seen other wheels that I want to print as well! I will be documenting these builds on here when they are ready.
Fantastic jobs, it looks amazing.
Would be great to see how you did the wiring inside, and what different component you used? The Leo Bodnar controller + an Arduino from what I saw.
If it’s not much to ask, where did you find the 3D files? I’m ready to pay to have them. But what interest me the more is: has it been thought to make a simulation steering wheel like that? I mean did they took in consideration the space for the different boards you put inside or you had to adapt / update the different design to fit your needs?
Thanks and good job.

Hello, how are you! I would love to get the files for print. It would be possible for you to share the files on your thingverse platform. Thanks so much
my email is [email protected]
Looks amazing, i´m building something simular to this, the porsche lmp wheel.
Would you like to share your 3d files when your wheel will be finisched?
keep on the good work
Please share files on thingiverse when your wheel will be finisched. Amazing job btw.
Hi i’m looking into getting a steering wheel like this for my thrustmaster TX.
can you build me one just like this to my specs?
or i can supply the 3d printed wheel and you build in all the electronics to make it fully functional
all this electronic stuff seem very hard and lot of knowledge witch i don’t have and you are very good at it.
if your willing to do so please let me know and we will discuss more and get into am agreement.
I love the way the hydro dip came out when I build mine I am going to hydro dip for sure.
Nice work! When will you share the files with us?
I’m wondering when you’re putting the files online like you promised?
You can mail them also to alexnijendijk [at] gmail dot com
I don’t remember promising to put the files anywhere?
If you read the blog carefully, you’ll see who you need to contact to get the files.
Hi, I tried contacting the person about the files but I don’t think they are active anymore on reddit. Is it possible for you to get in touch with them as I would be happy to buy the files to build my own. Many Thanks
Wow, what a wheel! Well done!
I would also love to be a guinea pig to test producing and testing this wheel.
If you would not mind you would really make me happy to make it somehow happen to get me in touch with owner of those model files to maybe get a chance to get them!
Thanks in advance, and keep on building such cool stuff.
BR, Martin
Could you contact the person and let them know I would like to purchase the files to build my own wheel. Many Thanks
